How It Works

Your Path to Velora in 5 Simple Steps

Most families complete the entire process within 1–2 weeks. For urgent needs, we offer expedited admissions in as little as 24–48 hours.

1

Initial Inquiry & Conversation

Day 1

Call us or submit an inquiry form. Our admissions coordinator will listen to your family’s story, answer your questions, and help determine if Velora is the right fit. This is a no-obligation conversation — we’re simply here to help.

What to expect: 15-20 minute phone call covering care needs, availability, and next steps.

2

Personalized Tour & Lunch

Days 2–5

Visit our community for a guided tour of the campus. Meet our care team, see the suites, explore common areas, and join us for a complimentary chef-prepared lunch. Bring the whole family — we love meeting everyone.

Tour options: In-person (recommended), live video call, or self-guided photo tour.

3

Care Assessment & Personalized Plan

Days 5–7

Our licensed care team conducts a comprehensive pre-admission assessment. We’ll evaluate physical health, cognitive function, medication needs, dietary requirements, and personal preferences to build a truly individualized care plan.

Assessment includes: Health history review, functional abilities, cognitive screening, and family goals.

4

Financial Review & Agreement

Days 7–10

We’ll walk you through pricing, payment options, and all financial details with complete transparency — no hidden fees, ever. Our team can help identify long-term care insurance benefits, VA Aid & Attendance eligibility, and other financial resources.

Financial options: Private pay, long-term care insurance, VA benefits, SSI/SSP assistance.

5

Welcome Home — Move-In Day

Day 10–14

On move-in day, your loved one’s suite is prepared and waiting. Our team greets them warmly, helps them settle in, and introduces them to neighbors and staff. We make the first day feel like coming home — because it is.

Move-in support: Dedicated move-in coordinator, welcome basket, first-week daily check-ins with family.

Common Questions

Admissions FAQ

Most families complete the admissions process within 1–2 weeks. For urgent situations such as hospital discharges or safety concerns, we offer expedited admissions that can be completed in as little as 24–48 hours. Our admissions coordinator works at your family’s pace.

Absolutely. We encourage multiple visits including guided tours, meal tastings, and even overnight trial stays through our respite care program. We want you to feel completely confident. There is never any pressure, and our door is always open.

RCFE services are primarily private pay. However, we accept most long-term care insurance policies and can help families navigate SSI/SSP benefits and VA Aid & Attendance benefits. Our admissions team works with each family to explore all available financial options and ensure affordability.

This is completely normal and very common. Resistance to change is natural, especially for seniors who value their independence. We recommend starting with a visit — many residents who were initially reluctant are won over by the warm atmosphere, friendly neighbors, and chef-prepared meals. Our team is experienced in easing this transition with empathy and patience.

Yes! We encourage residents to personalize their suites with familiar furniture, photos, artwork, and cherished belongings. Making a suite feel like home is an important part of a successful transition. Our team can help with space planning and arrangement on move-in day.

Care plans are reviewed regularly and adjusted as needs evolve. Velora offers a continuum of care — from assisted living to memory care to hospice support — so your loved one can age in place without the disruption of moving to a different facility. We work closely with families and physicians to ensure care always matches current needs.
